Foxford Woollen Mills

Foxford Woollen Mills was established in 1892 by the Irish Sisters of Charity. Their objective was to provide the means whereby the local people could earn a livelihood. Gradually the woollen mills became a reality and gained a reputation for the quality of its blankets, rugs and throws. Following on 125 years and with the help of the Award Winning Irish designer Helen McAlinden Woman, Foxford has developed into an Irish brand recognised throughout Ireland and the world for its design, quality and heritage.
Foxford’s design aesthetic could be described as minimalist with an Irish ‘friendly’ twist. Drawing inspiration from Irish Modernist Eileen Gray and Scandinavia Design the designers also gain inspiration from the Mayo country side.
