Irish Country Magazine launches inaugural Irish Made Awards

The awards, open to creative businesses and makers across the country, will highlight the best in Irish-made products with the overall winner taking home an advertising and mentoring package worth €10,000. The idea for the Irish Made Awards came on the back of Irish Country Magazine winning the Innovation Award at the Magazines Ireland Awards 2016. ICM received the award for creating the Irish Made stamp highlighting Irish products which featured in the monthly magazine.

The Overall Winner will receive an advertising package from Irish Country Magazine, and membership and mentoring from Guaranteed Irish worth a total of €10,000.

Speaking about the Irish Made Awards, editor of Irish Country Magazine, Jennifer Stevens said: “We are so proud to be launching the Irish Made Awards. We’re huge fans and supporters of Irish design, craft and business at Irish Country Magazine and we’re delighted to launch these awards that honour the talented people behind them.

“Small and medium business across the country need to be supported and championed, not just the big corporations in the cities. This award and campaign is for them, and we are thrilled to be the magazine to bring something like this to life.”

The competition, which is opened for entry this week and will announce its shortlist for public vote in June, is open to businesses across the country in the following categories;

• Fashion

• Accessories

• Jewellery

• Textiles

• Furniture

• Home

• Gift

• Beauty

• Tech

• Food & drink

The shortlist from each category – decided by an expert judging panel from companies like Guaranteed Irish, Bord Bia, Kildare Village and more – will be announced in June, with voting taking place online through Irish Country Magazine’s website until August. The ten honourees in each category and the Overall Winner of the Irish Made Awards will be announced in September.

The Irish Country Magazine is a leader in promoting Irish creators and makers, and this award – along with an Irish Made Summit to be hosted in September – is a new development for the magazine to continue championing the amazing work done and products produced by small, medium and large businesses across the country.
