Can you tell us a bit about Tierney’s?

Tierney’s is an indigenous Irish company, established in 1993, to provide specialised, comprehensive computer services and support, to Irish and International organisations. Owned and managed by the company founder and Managing Director Andy Tierney, since that time, Tierney’s now operates countrywide in both Ireland and the UK. What are the challenges that you face in your business and how do you work to overcome them particularly in the current climate?

As the COVID-19 situation evolves, the biggest challenge we face into the future is the uncertainty of hospitality across the UK and Irish Hotels, Restaurants and Tourism Industry. We are constantly reviewing out continuity plans to emerge stronger than our competitors to win new business whilst keeping our current customers IT maintained and supported 365 days.

With the increase of remote working how important is IT Security & Cloud Security for business?

Everyone wants to ensure that their information is kept secure. IT Security and Cloud Security is imperative to keep information safe for both business and personal users. As most businesses have moved their employees to remote working environments throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, businesses still have a legal obligation to their clients to ensure all data is stored securely.

At the beginning of 2020 – Tierney’s achieved ISO 27001:2013 Certification from Certification Europe Ltd. By attaining this, we proved that we have developed and implemented  the best in class information security management system (ISMS) to include IT Managed Services, IT Security, Cloud Services and Hospitality Solutions for our clients from our offices in Ennis, Co. Clare, including remote staff in Ireland and the UK.

What made you decide to become a member of Guaranteed Irish?

Tierney’s have always strived to be aligned with and supported authentic best of breed partners and deciding to support Guaranteed Irish was no different. We are committed to Irish attribution and we support local jobs – an ethos of both our organisations.

We also have a strong corporate social responsibility with a very detailed budget which supports many worthy associations throughout the year including a number of deserving charities and beneficiaries throughout Ireland.

What can we expect for Tierney’s in the future and do you have plans to expand to other services?

Tierney’s will strive to continue being recognised as a market leader in the Hospitality Industry and deliver exceptional levels of service to our customers. We have direct management and support agreements with approximately half the hotel properties in Ireland and we hope this will continue to increase. We are currently rolling out Point of Sales installations with 3 major fast food and motor-way service station companies which again we hope to grow. Tierney’s business levels, operational structures and overall company size has been steadily growing, year on year, for almost a decade now.
