Meet our new Board of Directors

Brid O’Connell

CEO | Guaranteed Irish

Brid O’Connell, MMII, MMPRII, MSc (Hons), was appointed as CEO to Guaranteed Irish in July 2016. Brid has a long career in marketing, branding, communications and PR. She has welcomed the opportunity to add value to Guaranteed Irish members through her revitalising and repositioning of the organisation to reflect modern Ireland in a global economy.

Prior to joining Guaranteed Irish, Ms. O’Connell worked as the CEO of Meath Tourism, Meath County Council, and founded Welcome Marketing & Luxury Ireland which she continues to advise today.

Mike Quinn

CEO | Ervia

Mike Quinn joined Ervia in late October 2017 from Bord na Móna where he held the role of Chief Executive Officer. He joined Bord na Móna in 2015 having worked as Vice President of Precision Castparts (PCC), a worldwide group of five companies based in the US, for ten years.

Prior to joining PCC, Mike held various senior management positions in Tellabs, Stryker and Lufthansa Tecknik. He spent the earlier part of his career working in engineering roles with Amdahl Ireland and Apple Computers.

Mike holds a degree in Physics and Electronics from DCU and a postgraduate qualification in Project Management from UL. He also studied advanced leadership programmes at both Cranfield University and the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.

Mark Keller Dairygold

Mark Keller

Head of Sales & Marketing | Dairygold

Mark joined Dairygold as Head of Sales & Marketing in September 2014 to develop a customer focused route to market strategy and to capitalise on the ending of Milk Quotas. His other core focus was to relaunch the Dairygold Co-Operative Society USP and to develop a Master Brand Strategy, to enable the Society to enter new markets and product categories in Dairy Nutrition.

Mark has 30 years of experience in sales & marketing roles in the electronics, telecommunications, FMCG, Luxury Goods and Dairy Ingredients industry. Prior to Dairygold, Mark has worked for Bose Music Systems, GEC Plessey Telecommunications, Mars Ireland, Waterford Crystal, Deloitte (Receivers) and WWRD Holdings UK Ltd.

Mark received his education from Providence College, Rhode Island, USA.

Paddy Kelly

Managing Director | Tegral Building Ltd.

Paddy was appointed Managing Director of Tegral in 2010. Prior to this, he had been the Sales Director for a number of years for Tegral, and was formerly a Sales Manager and Sales Representative also at the company. He holds a degree in Business (Management).

Throughout his time at Tegral, Paddy has also been the Chairman of Octabuild, the Chairman of the Building Materials Federation, and most recently President of the Hardware Association of Ireland from 2013-2015.

He is currently President of the European Federation of Fibre Cement Manufacturers.

Carmel Logan

Tax Partner | KPMG Ireland

Carmel Logan is a director with KPMG, specialising in tax. Carmel has over 14 years experience advising Irish and multinational clients on all aspects of tax, across a broad range of sectors including the property, technology and pharmaceutical sectors.

Carmel has significant experience advising Irish headquartered groups with international operations, as well as multinational groups with Irish operations. She has particular experience of inward and outward investment in an international context as companies seek to expand their businesses including financing structures, acquisition vehicles and cross-border tax issues.

Carmel also advises a number of start-up companies on the challenges around fundraising, structuring shareholding arrangements, rewarding employees and growing global operations.

Ger Brennan MSD Board of Directors

Ger Brennan

Managing Director | MSD Ireland

Ger Brennan is Managing Director for MSD Human Health in Ireland and is Head of MSD Ireland’s Country Leadership Team which represents all elements of MSD’s Animal Health, Human Health and Manufacturing businesses in Ireland.

Prior to taking up his current role in 2016, Ger held a number of high level positions in MSD including Global Franchise Lead for Immunology; MSD’s Commercial Operations lead in Europe; and Canada and Immunology Regional Marketing Lead (RML) for Mid Europe.

In addition, Ger has worked across a wide range of areas in the pharmaceutical sector and is currently a member of the Strategy Board of the Irish Pharmaceutical Healthcare Association – the representative body for theinternational research-based pharmaceutical industry in Ireland.

Orla Kane Bord na Mona

Orla Kane

Marketing & CSR Manager | Bord na Móna

Orla has 20 years strategic marketing experience across a number of blue chip companies – Kerry Foods, Cadburys, Campbell’s Soup and Mars.

In her current role in Bord na Móna, Orla has led the company through its first brand relaunch in 25 years and has incorporated Reputation Management and Corporate Responsibility as key management concepts and functions in the organisation.

Orla holds an Masters in Marketing and Strategic Research from Dublin Institute of Technology.

Michael Jackson

Managing Partner | Matheson

Prior to his appointment as Managing Partner at Matheson, Michael spent over ten years as head of Matheson’s Financial Services practice. Michael advises many of the world’s leading financial institutions, investment banks, asset management companies, broker-dealers and corporations carrying on business in Ireland or from Irish vehicles.

Michael was a member of the IFSC Funds Group established by the Department of An Taoiseach to consider and advise on legislative and other changes which are necessary or desirable to facilitate the continued growth of the Irish investment funds industry. He was also chairman of the legislative sub-group of the IFSC Funds Group.

Michael has spoken at a number of international financial services conferences. He has lectured at the law school of the Law Society of Ireland on financial services law and is a regular contributor to financial services publications.
